Rehabilitative Day-Care Centers

Petachya is a pioneer in meeting the needs of infants and toddlers with special needs. Long before the Rehabilitative Day-Care Centers Law came into effect in 2000, Petachya had been operating a day-care center for children with Down’s syndrome, which grew from year to year. With the Rehabilitative Day-Care Centers Law coming into effect, Petachya’s founding special-needs day-care center became a recognized rehabilitative day-care center.

No resources have been spared in outfitting the day-care centers, to ensure the time infants and toddlers spend in day-care is maximized. The auxiliary rooms are kitted with state-of-the-art equipment, diagnostic kits are regularly purchased and updated, and climbing frames and other play equipment have been adapted to the children’s specific needs, with every detail having been designed to create a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere that encourages curiosity, experimentation, motivation – and ultimately success.

Petachya’s outstanding staff and programs have earned the esteem of the Ministry of Welfare and the Ministry of Health, and today Petachya runs 6 rehabilitative day-care centers under the auspices and supervision of the Ministry of Health: 2 in Jerusalem, 1 in Beit Shemesh, 1 in Netivot, 1 in Modi’in Illit, and 1 in Gan Yavneh.
